Hani is a doctoral candidate in the chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute for Civil Engineering at the Technical University Berlin.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Damascus University in 2001 and has more than 15 years of international experience, holding leadership positions in the field of construction engineering and management. He has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Project Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) since 2011, and received his Master’s degree in Energy Management from the Technical University of Berlin in March 2017.
Hani has been involved in a wide spectrum of construction projects in many countries across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe. He is currently a senior projects consultant, offering his expertise in international tenders’ management, strategic project portfolio management and remote project controls.
In his PhD project, he is investigating the decision-making processes related to the practice of planning and controls of major projects in the energy sector, that are delivered under complex, multi-stakeholder partnership structures. The aim of his research is to develop a solution that offer visual scenarios analyses and simulations that supports well-informed decision-making and dynamic project controls, by implementing the principles of systems engineering and mathematical modeling methods. The result of this research would be used to: facilitate different scenario simulations, improve multi-level communication and collaboration, optimize planning and risk management, and help to improve overall project productivity.
