Isabelle is a research assistant at the chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute for Civil Engineering at the Technical University Berlin.
During her master’s in civil engineering at the Technical University of Berlin she spent a semester abroad at the University of Oslo, Norway, to deepen her education in the field of civil informatics and received her final M.Sc. degree in 2021. Her research interests are in the areas of BIM, Systems Engineering and Ontologies.
As a professional, Isabelle worked beside her studies as a student research assistant as well as a working student in multiple construction companies in Germany and Norway, almost always with a focus on improving work processes with the BIM-method. Therefore, she gained knowledge on how to adapt and implement digital workflows in various phases of planning in the construction industry.
Isabelle joined the group in February 2021. She is the contact person for international students, especially future dual degree students, at the department.
Her independent research focuses on investigating how any disciplines, such as preventive fire safety, can use ontology development and further processes to digitally integrate their workflow to support independent parametric modeling using the BIM-method.
