Basil is a Research Assistant at the chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute for Civil Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and working on the BIM Speed project, where his work includes running simulations for energy, 4D and 5D BIM models, and also applying multi criteria decision making methods to the different case scenarios to come up with the most optimum renovation solutions. He is also a Research Assistant at the research project sponsored by Autodesk on how to use voice recognition to optimize BIM.

He received his Bachelors in Civil Engineering in 2018 from BBD University, Lucknow in India. He was doing his Master in Structural Engineering at IIT Dhanbad, India in 2020 from which he dropped out when he received an acceptance letter for an MSc in Civil Systems Engineering at TU Berlin, in favor of better opportunities in his views. He has worked with Arcadis on "how to reduce the carbon footprint of data centers" in one of his projects during his Master's. His areas of interest are parametric modeling, design space exploration, and sustainability. One day, he wants to create an inclusive infrastructure for people with special needs.
