Application and Admission

Entry Requirements

Applicants to Civil Systems Engineering master program must fulfill the following requirements. Please note that the details of the admission requirements are currently only for your information without obligation, as they have not yet been approved by the Senate Chancellery.

Requirements in a nutshell
Bachelor degree
A first university degree that qualifies for a profession and that has been acquired in a course of study in the subject area  of civil engineering, architecture or a subject-related course.  The course of study must include at least the following parts: 
  • At least 12 ECTS in the constructive mechanics,
  • At least 6 ECTS in a design project, and
  • At least 6 ECTS in the areas of computational design or computer science.
Certificate of English Language Proficiency
Level C1 according to Common European Framework of reference for Languages (CEFR) or an equivalent level.
Letter of reference
Academic letter written by your professor at a recognized University
Motivation Letter
In max. 2 pages explain why the offered program interests you. 
Academic Record
Previous academic record such as scientific publications

The next generation of specialists playing the role of systems engineers in the field of civil engineering must have a set of skill which will allow them to mindfully deal with the increasing complexity of the built environment. The assessment of these skill set is done during the admission interview and is listed below.

Applications for the Master's program are accepted for the upcoming winter semester. All the applications should be submitted via uni-assist, except the TU Berlin bachelor students and graduates which apply directly to the master's service area
