BIM-SPEED 3rd GA meeting in Valladolid, Spain

From the 27th to 29th of November, the third BIM-SPEED General Assembling meeting took place in Valladolid, Spain host by our partner CARTIF. Once again, members from the 22 partner organizations, including SMEs, research institutions, EU professional associations and universities, met during two days to share knowledge and create more insights in how to provide stakeholders with affordable solutions to adopt BIM in building renovation projects meanwhile enhancing energy performance of the existing building stock and comfort of the users.

The meeting was focused on what has been done during the first year of the project and the resulting deliverables including a) an online tool to assess the BIM madurity level of companies that intend to adopt BIM for their renovation projects; b) the experiences exchanged with the Community of Practice and our Advisory Board during the first BIM-SPEED industry day conducted in October; and c) an analysis of BIM-to-BEM critical parameters and recommendations to solve current bottlenecks. We also shared experiences from the activities performed in the different demonstration cases across Europe, and the implementation of multiple technologies to collect the data required to assess the current state of buildings; laser scanning, drone thermal scanning, indoor environment monitoring and other technologies were under discussion. Guidelines for the upcoming months were defined, special efforts will be oriented to build a closer cooperation with our demo sites and the development of new features for our KROQI platform, which is being used by our partners and demonstration projects to support the integration of BIM into building renovation projects.
