From the 18th to 19th of November, the fifth BIM-SPEED General Assembling meeting took place through an online plattform, connecting around 40 BIM-SPEED partners across Europe. Once again, members from the 22 partner organizations, including SMEs, research institutions, EU professional associations and universities, met during two days to share knowledge and create more insights in how to provide stakeholders with affordable solutions to adopt BIM technologies in building renovation projects while enhancing energy performance of the existing building stock and comfort of the users.
The meeting was a turning point that represents the start of the second half of the project. The project will go through a transition from research to the implementation and demosntration of the tools being developed within the BIM-SPEED consortium. The meeting focused on the achievements during the first two years of the project and the innovative deliverables for M24, including results such as a) Guidelines for as-built BIM modelling; b) Methods for integration of environmental and GIS data to BEM; c) A multi-criteria decision making tool; d) A crowdsourcing app for the inhabitants, and others. We also discussed the activities for the second half of the project, special efforts will be oriented to build a closer cooperation with our demo sites, the integration of the diverse tools developed by the partners into the BIM-SPEED platform, the development of training and dissemination material for those tools, and the coordination of the BIM-SPEED competition.
The BIM-SPEED project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 under the call Building information modelling adapted to efficient renovation (Research and Innovation Action). Further information can be found in the BIM-SPEED project website https://www.bim-speed.eu/en .
