Working paper; A review on disaster recovery optimisation

The working paper; “Optimization-based decision-making models for disaster recovery and reconstruction planning of transportation networks” is now online at DepositOnce as a repository of TU Berlin. 

Optimizing the performance of complex systems after a disaster is an acknowledged approach. We tried to analyze those approaches for the context of Disaster Recovery Planning of Transportation Networks (DRPTN). Based on a systematic review of the literature, the paper report and discuss identified challenges and opportunists in applying optimization methods in the problem of DRPTN. The study also provides suggestions within four phases of defining, formulating, solving, and validating the DRPTN modeling process.
