Post-Disaster Infrastructure Reconstruction Planning (PDIRP); Decision support system for recovery of urban road network after natural hazards

Lupe

PDIRP aims to present a model-driven decision support system formed by macroscopic simulation of urban transportation infrastructures as well as mathematical emergency importance models in order to provide an action recovery plan for traffic network after natural hazards. The post-disaster decision-guidance tool is based on two-phase data collecting which provides accurate damage assessment after the event and computing the importance value of routes before disaster. By using fuzzy technique, the multi-hazard DSS approach benefits of linear programing embedded in geographical information system. The multidisciplinary and modular methodology of the project is consisting of four main models for forming an algorithm in order to quantitating and integrating values of the criteria that have decisive influence in the recovery of urban roadways at aftermath of an extreme natural phenomena. Professor Timo Hartmann supervises PDIRP project at the chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute for Civil Engineering.
