Jeremias is an external PhD
candidate at the chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute
of Civil Engineering at the Technical University Berlin. He is
conducting his PhD in cooperation with the Volkswagen AG.
He
received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.) and
focused for his Master degree on Computational Engineering Science
(M.Sc.), both at Technical University Berlin. He had various
experiences abroad joining an exchange year at a high school in
Michigan (USA) and an Erasmus semester during his Master at the
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona (Spain). He made
his first contact with the Volkswagen AG during his Bachelor and has
also conducted his Master thesis in the company. Currently, he is
employed at the IT department for production planning systems at the
VW head quarter in Wolfsburg.
Jeremias joined the chair of Civil
and Building Systems in March 2020. He is focusing on enhancing the
federated model of the Digital Factory at Volkswagen through the
implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.
One of the particularities of BIM in (automotive) production factories
is the high complexity due to the involvement of many stakeholders and
interfaces. One of his first research goals is the development of a
framework to classify the severity of clashes within a factory-BIM
model.
