Sharon Verghese


Sharon is a Research Assistant at the chair of Civil and Building Systems at the Institute for Civil Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and working on theBIM Speed project, where her work includes collecting and documenting Use-cases based on BuildingSMART IDM specifications.She joined the Masters in Civil Systems Engineering in 2020.She is also working as a Data Science Working student at a ConTech company in Berlin, on research and implementation of ML models for enhanced while simplified digital tendering solutions for the German construction industry. 

She received her Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University in India in 2018 and herthesis was designing followed by testing of a concrete mix for storing nuclear waste. She later worked as a Project Engineer in an interior fit-out firm in Dubai for over two years, working on several commercial fit-out projects across MENA region in roles involving design of building systems, procurement, site execution and cost estimation. Her areas of research interest are implementation of digital tools for optimization of building energy modeling, particularly implementing data science methods.
